basmati pilaf

This is a rice pilaf recipe, where you can easily make variations matching your main course needs, and you do not have to worry about not cooking the rice properly.

ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups boiling water

preparation

  1. Add rice, salt and olive oil to the pan, stir well over medium heat.
  2. Pour hot water in, cover, cook for 7-8 min.
  3. Remove from heat, let it rest covered for 10 min. Fluff with a fork to serve.
  • 1 çbk = 1 çorba kaşığı = 1 table spoon = 15 ml
  • 1 tsp = 1 tatlı kaşığı = 1 tea spoon = 5 ml
  • 1 cup ~ 1 su bardağı = 1 cup = 240 ml
  • measurements
ps: Can sprinkle chopped herbs to decorate. Can add boiled peas. Can dissolve 4-5 saffron threads in hot water before pouring into rice.
