Started growing vegetables in my balcony during the summer of 2013. I planted couple of different peppers knowing that the household might like them. All ended up being too hot to eat when raw. I ended up doing my research and developed this sauce. If you like hot this product is good both as a sauce and as an ingredient for specific cooking.
ingredients
- 300 grams hot chili pepper, cut the stalks and slice (NET WEIGHT)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup onion, chop
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp pomegranate molasses
preparation
- Add all the ingredients to a pot. Bring to boil over medium heat. Lower the heat and cook 20-30 minutes. Be careful that it doesn't dry out. Remove from heat.
- Cool for 5 minutes and puree with the blender.
- If you prefer, you can strain through a sieve for it to be smooth and pourable. Put the seeds & thick skin thats left in the stainer into a jar and pour some extra virgin olive oil on them. You'll get a delicious hot oil within 3-5 days.
